Great Job Fins & Birds
Last night was a wonderful night of football. The Fins managed to make the Pats the first team sing (the 70something) broncos to have 10+wins and not get the division while the Eagles managed to make their way into the playoffs by destroying the Cowboys.

Big day tomorrow, let's do this Fins
Tomorrow's a big day for my dolphins. If they beat the Jets, they'll clinch their division and make it so the Pats are the first team since Denver to have a <10 record and not make it.
Other exciting news, by default (even with a 12 and 18 (or something) record), the 76ers are in Third. Flyers remain in Second which is, of course, quite nice, While the Eagles remain a constant source of indigestion.
So hey, here comes the new song.

XXXV now started, two songs in
With only an acoustic guitar and a harmonica, I'm trying to record new music for XXXV. So far, it's somewhat challenging, but successful. Fins won, but so did the pats (and the Eagles lost). So long as the fins keep winning, I'm happy. One more to go and they could win it (the fins that is)
Okay, songs then.

Back in Connecticut
I've switched a few things around, removing two songs from XXXIV and adding the two recorded to XXXV, finishing XXXIV and leaving XXXV clean to start something totally new.
Here's the first song from it.
It has snowed a lot here in Madison.
Sixers lost to Indiana by One, which is somewhat dissapointing as the pacers are one of the lesser teams in comparison to Philly.

They might not be the best in the league, but they're players sure have great names
Did I ever mention how absolutely terrifying the Sixers Mascot, Hip-Hop is?
This is, in some way or another, turning into a strange sports blog of sorts. One must note, however, that I know very little of the technical end of anything discussed here. As such, it's purely observational.
Along with our friend T. Young, another great name is Iguodala, whose name catches my ear more than any other's when listening to the sixers on the Radio. We recently had a great win against the bucks so I'm quite happy about that.
Flyers lost, but, we lost to Montreal. It sucks that we lost, however, it brings them, if only a little bit, closer to getting above the bruins (the team they rank one under). The bruins hold a place in my heart similar to that of the Patirots and the Redsox (meaning I hate them). The only boston team I don't hate completely is the Celtics.
And the Dolphins keep kicking ass as they're tied up for second in their division.

SCHOOL'S OUT/LETS GO DOLPHINS
Sadly I only have another week in the city. Cheers to anyone in the crafts department who's still working there asses off.
Now let's go Fins. I wish I could have the same enthusiasm for the Eagles, but they've just let me down a few times to many (i.e. tying with Cincinnati).
So let's go dolphins. So long as they keep the Pats in a tight spot, I'm a happy man.
76ers are still iffy, but I really wouldn't expect anything else right now.
Anyway, here's the second song from album Thirty Five.

Two updates in one day, why not?
I really need to actually update this thing when I write songs: 76ers, Two Istbones, XXXII & XXXIII
Wen't to a sixers game the other night. To anyone who lives near Philly, it's very much worth the 10 dollars to make your way out to a game. I'm personally making an effort to better follow basketball.
Also, with a name like Thaddeus Young, what's there not to like.
Thanks to everyone who's downloaded the compilation. It's already doing just as well as the others and the response has been quite good. Around the same time as my compilation's release, another artist, Two Istbones, released what I believe to be some of the better music to come out of the forums in a long time. For anyone who's interested:
here's the thread
and
here's his homepage.
He also mentioned potential collaboration, so keep your fingers crossed.
In the past two days I've finished both album XXXII (Mockingbird) and XXXIII (In The Forest Of My Room).
Here's the first track of the later:
And here's the album art for XXXIII:
Ten Dollar Seats (No. 1)
Booth on the court, and in the ticket booth, the lights are dim.
To the best of my knowledge
I have already made my way into seven photographs.
Our defense is weak and we're fouling too much.
Perhaps it's the risk of playing tough.
Godzilla and King Kong beat their chests
to the rhythm of a chant.
Defense.
And it's been so long that I've forgotten most of the rules.
The monitors show the private suites,
filled with people only half following the action below.
There is a constant swirling of voices.
With eight minutes and four seconds remaining in the third quarter,
there is a strange and sudden silence.
At seven minutes and Thirty seconds remaining,
the lights start to change again.
It's been so long that I've forgotten most of the rules.
With a sharp face and nicely combed hair,
a young man in what appears to be a leather jacket asks for a light.
"Come here alone?"
I nod, taking a drag of my cigarette.
"I might as well be. Here with my girlfriend"
He says, washing down a drag with an overpriced beer.
"It's funny because I wanted to come here by myself,
and she was so insistent and, now,
now I just feel more alone."

The Great River Locked: Compilation FIVE free!
Go to:

For any goons, go to http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3017677 for further detail
For anyone who's already downloaded my albums, you already know the schpeel about the 'no less than three songs a week' experiment I've been doing under the title of Days Run Away. This album, The Great River Locked is a compilation of records Twenty-Three through Thirty-One. As always, both the compilation and the records from which the compilation is compiled, are available for free to download.
For this series, I made an effort to make more guitar oriented tracks. With the exception of a little percussion, found recordings, vocals and chimes, every sound you hear is a guitar, no matter how organ or horn-like they may sound. The album title is based off of a line from a poem by Mao Zedong called Yellow Crane Tower.
For anyone who would rather preview the songs, you can go to my myspace.
In the past, these compilations have been really well received. Still though, if you have any creative criticisms, I'd be happy to hear it.

Work from album Thirty-One
Nothing to really comment on.
However, I do feel it's time for a bit of name-dropping.
Go out and get the new Ceremony album. Their latest record, Still Nothing Moves You, was recently released and I personally feel that it's the strongest (if not, in the top 3) record of the year.

Album 30 Started. Compilation 5 Soon to Come
I've got to organize it. Seeing as the tracks are as long as they are, the album will probably have a shorter tracklist. Though days may seem to be running away too fast, I intend to keep recording. So far, this has meant thirty albums in one year. Though I'm normally quite hesitant to ever boast, I'm pretty proud of this achievement.

New/Stop/Go Phillies
new song up from New England Songs. Phillies won the NL east and are doing well so far against the Brewers. I just wish the third game was tonight instead of saturday. I guess I can't be too picky. Aside from that, some mild frustrations with school, a good deal of volunteering and church, all the while trying to bite the bullet through the hell that is writing for television.

In these cool mornings Autumn has finally revealed itself. The simple rush in leaving a window open has been a subtle step in the direction of relief.
I'm still recording a lot. Sadly though, it seems time slips away (with internet connection) whenever I want to upload something.
Mid-way through album 27.

COMPILATION NO. 4: READY FOR DOWNLOAD!
I've had this up for a while and haven't bothered to update the blog yet. COMPILATION IV: SHAKING BRANCHES is now completed. You can download it at http://www.megaupload.com/?d=P88BH0U1
Here's my blurb about it:
For anyone who hasn't seen my previous posts of free music, my solo project's name is Swimmingpool The Band. Since January of this year, I've started a bit of an experiment in which I would record at least three songs a week, preferably (and more often than not) I would do one a day. The title for this project is Days Run Away, based on the Charles Bukowski poem, Days Run Away Like Wild Horses Over The Hills. Every collection of songs over 30 minutes long would result in an album. Admittedly, this can be somewhat overwhelming. As such, with every five albums, I decided to compile a compilation of my favorite tracks from the previous record.
The original songs were short, almost embarrassingly simple (on reflection). With each album, the songs began to grow more complex, longer and at times no longer retain the same ambient aesthetic as before. Some sound more, for lack of a better term, electronic in sound where as others tend to retain a more epic feel, perhaps even flirting with post-rock. Regardless of what they sound like, they're all free.
The following songs utilize more of my own vocals and drums (few electronic beats, more actual drums and/or percussion instruments, which essentially means my dad's crappy drum-set and various kitchen objects and vases). Beyond that, one song also features a sample from a close friend's band (http://www.myspace.com/elysianfields586) Elysium Fields. This compilation also spans six albums as a result of no internet access (meaning I continued to record and organized the records into a compilation following better access). As a result of which, the compilation is in two parts for two reasons.
Here are some of the tracks:
Thank you to everyone who's downloaded the record already!

Long Time No Post: Upon seeing a man stab himself/My Reason For My Absence/Fourth Compilation
Before I get into my new song and my updates, I'll explain a bit of a strange incident today. It was about 12:40 when I left for my lunch break. Anticipating blood only in the form of my healing wound, I was in no way prepared to see the homeless gentleman on the corner of locust and broad off himself with a glass bottle. Not drawing an incredible amount of attention to himself, he smashed the glass bottle and cut his throat. It was fortunate, if for no other reason, that no one else got hurt. The police responded very quickly and he was soon rushed away to the ER. Sadly, I doubt he'll be okay. Furthermore, it's sad that there's no real safe haven for the mentally impaired homeless. For each junkie there seems to be someone who's generally not in control of his or her actions or thoughts. My father would tell me that years ago, this kind of a problem was not so great as they would frequently commit these people to a safe and controlled environment. I just find this kind of thing to be sad. Truth be told I don’t feel the same kind of sympathy for junkies or the Squatter punks who clearly have enough money to buy sweet band shirts/tattoos (whom I often refer to as Trust Fund Punks), I do feel bad for those who did little to find themselves in this place which no one should be in.
Sometime around a week and a half ago, I got diagnosed with a Pilanoidal (sp?) Cyst. As a result of which, concentration and time to spare (let a lone sitting without being in a world of pain) was hard to come by. Furthermore, MP3Space has continued to not work, which has been an incredible frustration as of late (If anyone needs any of the songs, let me know).
Just prior to my diagnoses I released my fourth compilation entitled Shaking Branches, which spans a total of six albums.
Since I've reached a point of four Compilations, I felt it necessary to compile the tracks from the four into a more compact compilation for the sake of convince to anyone new to this project. This major compilation will be released soon, I promise.
Anyway, Throughout my painful recovery (these things suck, if you're a big guy or do a lot of biking and may be hairy, please, to look it up or go to this support site.), I continued to work on music and am now up to album 26. I'll go back soon and post what I haven't put online yet, but for the time being I'll give you my latest track The October Country.
With Halloween just around the corner, I've found myself getting in the festive mood (as it is my favorite time of the year). As such, I re-read the brilliant Ray Bradbury collection of the same name as my track.
I highly recommend this to anyone who loves short stories, Halloween or horror based fiction.
This collection inspired my latest work, and the album itself. The album will be called DRA 26: AUTUMN MOVEMENTS.
Here is the song:

D.R.A. II: The Grey Cardinal (Sorry no streaming from my page)
As for now, however, I'd like to show you my album art for the latest record which was actually made with a close friend. His name is Alex Rudinski, a close friend and almost my roommate (nothing bad went down), who is one of my favorite photographers among my peers (or in general as my arsenal of favorite photographers may be somewhat light).
Again, new songs will be up soon! I promise.

Youth is beautiful because it has a fearless heart that dreads not death. New song with real drums and more choral arrangements. Please read!
I'm currently sitting in a coffee shop that's playing absolutely crappy music. Something about cutting out shit or two eyes like mine and more crappy rhyming. Anyway, I've got the first track from Days Run Away XXIX: Panoramic World. The source of the title is a bit odd. It's an uncharacteristically beautiful quote by the fascist leader Mussolini.
"Youth is beautiful, because it has clear eyes with which to regard and to reflect the
vast and tumultous panorama of the world.
Youth is beautiful because it has a fearless heart that dreads not death.
I'm not certain as to the context of the quote, but I still love it.
The song is 13 minutes long and features a great deal of layering. Various intertwined choral arrangements with live drums and layers of guitars. I'm incredibly proud of it and hope you listen.

Shaking Twigs: The Most Layered Song I've Ever Produced Featuring REAL DRUMS and EIGHT LAYERS OF VOCALS (and 2 guitars)...Please listen
Okay, so, this song features Eight separate vocal tracks, two drums (THAT I PLAYED LIVE FOR TWO MEASURES AND THEN LOOPED...BUT TWO MEASURES, NEW RECORD, CAPS!!!), and two guitars. I am incredibly proud of this song. It's the last song off of DRA XIX and is possibly my favorite song from the D.R.A. series yet.
PLEASE listen. I want to know what people thing. If you dislike it and leave constructive criticism I'll listen to it but probably still consider this as my favorite.
SO enjoy.

Lots Of New Music. Albums 18 and 19 completed. Read Please!
For starters, album XIX has been the fastest record that I've yet to record. The Album took me about a day (today actually) to finish. It's five songs and exactly one half hour. Various songs throughout that album, and the one prior, have an almost glitch like aspect to them. I'm pretty proud of the records and hope to start album number 20 soon.
The album titles are Days Run Away XVIII: A Soft Steel Heart & Days Run Away XIX: Simple Hearts/Station 3.
This is part of the three movement title peice of Soft Steel Heart
This is the first track off of Simple Hearts.
