Robins & Cardinals

This is probably the best new song that I've written (this or the title song, which is included on ADDA II) out of all of my new tracks. Robins and Cardinals is, like the other songs posted, a song built from the ashes of the songs that I tried to write during my year or two struggle with writer's block.

The vocals are far more clear in this one and the chorus, for what may be the first time in my music (at least to me), has something of a catchy hook. The vocals and lyrics are simple and the samples are much more rhythmic than they often are. It layers and builds upon itself rather nicely and, as I said before, I'm super proud of how it rounds out.

Here are the lyrics:
"In a matter of months
we’ll wipe the slate clean
All those bitter lows will be
ancient history

There are robins and cardinals
on the branch outside
The weather’s getting cooler
and it’s a full moon tonight

We’re moving up
We’re moving on

The leaves are changing
they’ll glow and die
The rivers freeze and make new paths
and trails for us to find

There are robins and cardinals
on the branch outside
The weather’s getting cooler
and it’s a full moon tonight

We’re moving up
We’re moving on"

Like the lyrics upon reading your blog, but unfortunately I've never heard the song but I'll check the itune or other music sites to hear it myself. Thanks!
