Points Of Interest: Yves Klein/Mogwai. Also, new song, from album 77.

Album Art For Leaves (Or, No Weddings)

To start, here's the first song off of
Days Run Away LXXVII: Leaves (or, No Weddings), entitled Yves (the title will be understood when you read the rest of the post). Here's the song.

Now on to two big influences. The first of which is Yves Kline.
This is the intense motherfucker:

And he's best known for this:

A piece known as, 'That Fucking Blue Panting', Yves Kline Blue or IKB 191.
There's something about this man's intense simplicity that I find incredibly inspiring.

On a more musical note, Mogwai. A band whose importance and relevance only seems to grow with each new listen.

New Song From Album 76: Seeds: Drum Heavy: Drumssss

Here's the first track off of album 76, which is entitled Seeds. The Album art is done by my close friend and fellow artist Astrid. This song has four layers of drums and a shit ton of guitars. Definitely one of my louder tracks as of late. Here's to school starting soon. my last year. Academically, it's bound to be upsetting. As such, I feel my music will probably improve.

kate bush...why did I never listen to you before

Or give you a chance at that.
Anyway, here's a new song from the new record, Days Run Away LXXV: The Sound Eye.
All autoharp

And here's an incredible song from the Kate Bush Record that I've been obsessed with lately (The Hounds Of Love), Running Up That HIll.

Another beautiful vocal track

Fall, or Jupiter. Vocals by Diana. Clarinets and Thumbharp by me.
I'm starting the next record soon.

One more before I go: Cello Cello And Great Baseball

Good night for baseball. Nats, Phils and Royals pulling out great wins.
Here's a new track from album 74 (Which is Called Jupiter and Saturn).

This track consists of a solo cello piece by the other member of swimmingpool the band, Diana. Oh, and I'm bad at announcements but Diana's officially a member of S.T.B. Even though I'll still be composing most of the songs on my own, she contributes enough (both in quality and quantity) that she is definitely a member of the band and I'm happy to have her as such.

So I forgot to put up the last song from Dances

Here it is. It's a quiet/short little number. Album 73 is going rather quickly. Diana is currently working out some vocals/cello parts/pieces for the record and I look forward to working with them soon. Also, I'll be in Charleston visiting my grandparents next week so music updates may be sporadic/slow.

Autoharp AND CLARINET?

Rowing/Lakes, the third song off of the previous record, album 71: Dwimor.
Now that I re-listen to this track, I've found that I'm more proud of it than I originally thought. It flows in a way that a few of mine don't. There are some squeaks in it, but who cares.

And to keep up with what I've been listening, I've been jumping around between my love of the classic
Sweetheart of the Rodeo, and Hüsker Dü & Black Flag

The Byrds

Hüsker Dü

And I'm pretty sure I will never ever understand why people love Steely Dan the way they do.

more autoharp

second track off of Dances, The Golden Age or Dances No. 2.

Have fun!!!!!
Oh and go see Black Christmas. It's incredible.

Another new song and a bunch of name dropping

Okay, first, go listen to Boyz & Girl. They havent released anything stateside yet, but they're probably one of my favorite new bands.

Second, one of my favorite videos ever right now. Phoenix's 1901. The record's just as brilliant.

And after all that good music, here's my crappy crap.

Waves/Diamond Sound from LXX

Enjoy!
