Where I am

Rarely will I make these entries in anyway personal, However, I figured I might as well rattle off my most recent influences beyond sports.

Before that, here's the new song: D.R.A. III: Reflections Of The Water In The House Moved Before Us

Literary:
As one may have already figured out, I'm a huge fan of Charles Bukowski. Having read even more of his work I can confidently recommend just about any of his publications to those who are not yet familiar.

Books that I'm reading now or have read in the past month or two:

The Qur'an:
A truly beautiful work. Truth be told, and I hardly make reference to this, I am a Christian. However, I do find it extremely important to read and better understand this work/faith as a whole.
For anyone who would rather not pay: http://www.usc.edu/schools/college/crcc/engagement/resources/texts/muslim/quran/

The Book of Enoch
A brilliant, pre-christian, prophetical (and eventually gnostic) text covering a great deal of fallen angles and various other judeo-christian myths.

Mockingbird Wish Me Luck by Charles Bukowski:
A brilliant collection of early poetry.

…………and I'm now reading………

Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon

North by Louis-Ferdinand Céline

…and now, the music…

To make it known, I'm not going to go too heavily into why these albums are great (or if they're not great, why I Just like them). These are just the records that have been played more often in the past few months than any other.

Fleetwood Mac: Tusk

Lindsey Buckingham: Law & Order

Francoise Hardy: If You Listen

Cocteau Twins: Blue Bell Knoll

The Curtain Hits The Cast by Low

Midlake: Trials Of Van Occupanther
(Let it be known that this album has not one weak song. I never thought I'd fall in love with it the way that I have)

Ornette Coleman: Skies Of America

…and the comics that I'm reading (both graphic novels and series that are out now)…

Booster Gold (The Current Run)

Berlin: City Of Stones by Jason Lutes

Doom Patrol: The Grant Morrison/Richard Case run

I'll probably end up touching upon the plethora of other comics and albums that I'm listening to in future posts. Until then, I hope all of you are still enjoying the music!
